The Five Senses and Interpretive Experimentation

September 18-21, 2021

“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”–T. S. Eliot.

The exhibition Five Senses Perception and Interpretation Experiment–is the final result of the Xue Xue Institue's 2021 course of the same name. Exhibition curator Yueh-Yueh Liu advocates that, the essence of art is to “carry out the exchange of perception without preconditions and conditions” and that creation is the act of exploring one's own perception.

This exhibition shows how the participating creators realigned their perceptions of consciousness, body, time and space in the course of nearly six months, and ultimately responded to their own doubts in stages with composite media. By continuing to focus on the problems consciousness generates by one's own perceived experience, they are able to unfold the cosmic coordinates of one’s spirit.
