Multidimensional Frameworks
As part of the TPaddassoc 2022 Summer Internship, this lecture presents the experiences and reflections of four interns, who share insights gained from observing and participating in design team operations. Their discussions explore management models, interdisciplinary collaboration, creative ideation, and social responsibility. Through their perspectives, this session aims to inspire design newcomers by expanding their understanding of the industry and encouraging diverse career paths.
The interns will present their outcomes and personal growth from the internship programme, offering a unique glimpse into the philosophies, methodologies, and practices of four different design teams. Their reflections shed light on the current state of design education, the concerns of students in Taiwanese design departments, and their visions for the future. This lecture offers a roadmap of the diverse possibilities within the industry for young designers preparing to enter the workforce.
Chang Yu-Hung
Project and Time Management in Creative Teams
Chang Yu-Hung, who intends to establish his own design studio, interned with Amphibious Design and Sanshi, gaining valuable insights into systematic operations and team structures. With clearly defined goals, he closely observed management layers and team frameworks. In this talk, he will explore ideal team configurations and workflow optimisation—offering potential directions for team-based design practitioners.
Hsiao Chia-Yun
Fostering Design Thinking Through Interdisciplinary Experiences
Hsiao Chia-Yun believes design work should go beyond conversations confined to design itself. By embracing cross-departmental learning within a team culture that values mutual growth, designers can foster empathy and multidimensional thinking. She will share her experiences in exhibition design practices and dynamic collaboration with graphic design, reflecting on how these shaped her thinking and broadened her perspectives.
Lin Pao-Hsiang
Design as a Component of Social Progress
Lin Pao-Hsiang distilled the contradictions and uncertainties faced by students entering the industry into a clearer professional ethos. Critiquing the rigid structures of academic education, he examines the value of each stage in the design workflow. Drawing on his experiences at White Radiation and Kick in Design, he will share strategies for client engagement and reflect on how design defines its role and responsibility within society.
Chang Yu-Chen
Training in Creative Logic and Ideation
Chang Yu-Chen’s creative ideas are drawn from everyday life. By observing how people’s gestures reflect their mental states, she reinterprets the relationship between design and human behaviour—applying these insights in her work across writing and graphic design. In her talk, she will summarise her reflections from reading, mentoring, and iterative thinking—offering strategies for ideation and logical development that do not rely solely on inspiration.
