Most of the energy and movement of her work stems from her experience with noise music, portraying the world she sees through sound. Her childhood memories of Taiwanese temples and shrines inspire her to use bold and extreme colours; and in her vast, radiant world, one senses the grandeur and transcendence of religion— humbling viewers in reverence before the mysterious.
LIU Yu-Ju pursues a mental state of concentration, fixation, and tranquility in her works, continuously exploring the unchanged throughout the transformation of form and style. The intricate details observed from the textures of her paintings present new possibilities for the integration of digital and traditional art.
