Within the mainstream context of literary interpretation, Kuanting Chen's︎︎︎ code comprised worldview is particularly intriguing. His background in science, industrial design and architecture has led him to explore the relationship between information transmission and the relationship between people and objects in the field of graphic design. Through his works, he reveals his obsession with logic, and reveals the process of organizing “data” into “information” within the brain.
Kuanting Chen︎︎︎ is currently enrolled at ArtEZ in the Netherlands. In 2020, due to the pandemic, he briefly worked and studied in Taipei. After returning to school, he collected public domain images and bound an ISBN-free handmade book titled Met Stoelen with “the seat of the chair resting on the seat of the book”. The Japanese-style binding packaging cannot be completely flattened, capturing the abstraction perceived by the rigid and right angle of the back of the chair. Pleased to use the language of design to allow average readers to understand and find interest, this work also makes him the only Taiwanese designer to win the gold medal of the Best Book Design from All Over the World︎︎︎.
