Summer Internship 2024: Branding, Print, and Media

In response to the multifaceted nature of contemporary design practices, this year’s training programme integrates expertise in media and print. Route A, led by Transform Design and Condé Nast Taiwan, covers branding strategies and international print media, focusing on the organisation, creation, and dissemination of information. Route B, led by Elephant Design and Printology, takes participants through the complete design workflow, from pre-production to post-production.

About the Programme

This programme aims to equip the next generation of professionals with hands-on industry experience, welcoming design students and young professionals under the age of 25. Participants will rotate between two organisations in their assigned route, each for one month, during July and August. The programme emphasises building skills in branding, media, and print, offering comprehensive exposure to design workflows from strategy to execution.

Participants are required to attend biweekly group study sessions to exchange insights with peers from the other route and deliver a public presentation of their outcomes at the end of the programme. Registration for the selection process grants free access to all online events hosted by the organising body during the year.

Route A. Branding and Media

Transform Design: Transform Design is a full-service branding agency offering expertise in brand identity, packaging design, web design, art direction, and promotional campaigns. The studio is deeply committed to community engagement, using its creative processes to enhance social impact. Through brand creation and renewal, Transform Design helps clients elevate their value, achieving outstanding creative and commercial results.

Condé Nast Taiwan: Condé Nast Taiwan is the Taiwanese subsidiary of the world-renowned publishing group Condé Nast, established in 1996. Headquartered in New York City, the group publishes iconic magazines such as VOGUE, GQ, WIRED, Condé Nast Traveler, The New Yorker, and Vanity Fair.

Route B. Branding and Print

Elephant Design: The expression “Elephant in the room” symbolises the often-ignored absurdities in plain sight—an apt metaphor for communication gaps frequently encountered in design practice. Elephant Design aims to address these challenges by balancing structural design with artistic thinking to solve a wide range of creative problems.

Printology: Printology is a print consultancy firm composed of professionals with extensive design and printing expertise. The team collaborates with clients to seamlessly translate creative concepts into printed materials, offering guidance on paper selection, production schedules, and quality assurance. With a commitment to exceptional quality and timely delivery, Printology provides tailored solutions for all printing needs.

Final interviews will be conducted by the programme’s partner organisation heads. Internship certificates can be issued by the hosting organisations upon request. This programme is free of charge, and participants will not receive financial compensation for their work.
